Why should I choose the Pickup Parcel service?
- If you (or the recipient of your parcel) are rarely home because you are at work, our Pickup Parcel service is an excellent alternative to those "yellow notifications". Because in this case, it is up to you to decide to which postal branch/Austrian Post partner (near you or near the recipient of your parcel) your parcel will be sent. This may be a postal branch located near your home, your work place or a branch with extended opening hours. You can also select a postal branch/Austrian Post partner located in a different Austrian province: e.g., if you or the recipient of your parcel lives in Lower Austria, you have the option of choosing a postal branch in Vienna to pick up your Pickup Parcel.
- Instead of a "yellow notification", you (or the recipient of your parcel) will receive an automated notification (text message or e-mail). The parcel will be ready for pickup immediately after the notification has been sent.
How can I use the Pickup Parcel service for sending and receiving parcels?
- Our Pickup Parcel service is available at all Austrian Post branches (and Austrian Post partners), where you can both post parcels using this service and have parcels sent there (including parcels from mail-order companies).
How can I select the Pickup Parcel service when making my order from a mail-order company ?
- When placing your order with the mail-order company using an order form, online or over the phone, just indicate that you want to use the Pickup Parcel service.
- Choose a conveniently located postal branch (Austrian Post partner) in Austria where you would like to pick up your Pickup Parcel.
- Please provide your mobile phone number (or your e-mail address) to receive automated notification.
- And you're done! There is no additional cost for our Pickup Parcel service!
How can I find the closest postal branch (or Austrian Post partner) in order to have my Pickup Parcel sent there?
- Use Austrian Post's branch locator. This system will show you the way to the closest or most conveniently located postal branch.
How will I be notified about the arrival of my Pickup Parcel?
- You will receive either a text message or an e-mail, which will be sent to you immediately after the Pickup Parcel has been received at the postal branch or by the Austrian Post partner.
- You (or, in case you have sent the parcel, the recipient) can then pick up the parcel immediately after receiving the notification.
- In the text message (or e-mail), you will find item information as well as the address and the opening hours of the postal branch (Austrian Post partner).
- If the Pickup Parcel is not picked up within three days of the first notification, we will automatically send another text message (or an e-mail) as a reminder to the recipient of the parcel.
What do I have to keep in mind when picking up my Pickup Parcel?
- Just show us the text message on your mobile phone or a printout of the e-mail at the postal branch.
- Give us the first and last name of the Pickup Parcel recipient.
- If the parcel is from a mail-order company: Give us the name of the mail-order company.
- Provide the tracking number specified in the text message or the pickup code specified in the e-mail notification.
- And please have a valid ID handy.
