New Stamp Issue, 27 September

The Fussach Messenger

This is a collective issue with Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. For many centuries, the Fussach Messenger moved people, goods and letter mail from Lindau to Milan, which made him the first political connection on this major commercial route. On September 27, 2014, the four postal service companies in Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland will present their services along this historic route. In the four cities of Fußach (Austria), Lindau (Germany), Balzers (Liechtenstein) and Chur (Switzerland), special post offices and stamp exibits will be open all day.

In addition to the individual special postmarks, a cachet postmark (with the same image, but in a different colour for every country) will be available.

As a special service, Austrian Post will over a bus shuttle between the four above-mentioned cities. This service is free of charge. (Registration required, for details please see the PDF available for download)

The Austrian first-day special postmark will be available at the special post office in Fussach:
