New Stamp Issue, 10 October

120 Years Murtal Railway

For 120 years, this steam train has been going back and forth along the river Mur from Unzenmarkt to Tamsweg. Emperor Francis Joseph used to take this romantic narrow-gauge railway to his hunting trips in Murau. Today, this railway operates both on a regular schedule and for special nostalgic trips.

On the day of issue, the special post office will be cancelling mail items with the special first-day postmark.
