Profiling refers to the use of mathematical and statistical models to create a customer profile. This customer profile allows you to learn your clients' most relevant data, which will allow you to target them with pinpoint accuracy. 

Profiling goes beyond sociodemographic data such as age and gender. The analysis also includes your clients' current life stage, the size of their community as well as their purchasing power. A penetration analysis will help you see where your clients are located.


 

Scoring is a customer evaluation technique that helps you assess your clients' current and future purchasing behaviour. After analysing your customer data, predetermined questions are used to determine which clients are most likely to respond to a specific offer and which ones are qualified for a campaign. This process helps use your advertising budget more effectively.

Scoring can also help unearth potential new customers. Persons who have the same profile as your premium clients (i.e. clients with the highest scores) are considered potential new clients.
