Information about data use pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Österreichische Post will process your data for the following purposes:

Providing our "Tages-Post" service

Your personal data are used for contract performance and for carrying out precontractual activities pursuant to Article 6 (1) (b) of the GDPR in order to provide our "Tages-Post" service (for detailed information about the service, please visit:  https://www.tages-post.at). This service includes physically sending digital documents and invoicing this service to you (Tages-Post clients).

We currently perform no automated decision-making or profiling pursuant to Article 22 (1) and (4) of the GDPR.

Data categories:

In addition to data provided by you (i.e., first name, last name, company, address, e-mail address, username, voucher number, security question, items), we process the following data categories:

  • Data categories generated by us:
    user identification data, Tags-Post account data (status, item history)

The provision and/or generation of these data is required for the conclusion of contract. If these data are not provided, we cannot offer our "Tages-Post" service.

Duration of data storage:

Pursuant to Section 132 of the Austrian Federal Tax Code, your contractual data are stored for seven years after the end of the calendar year for which they were collected.

We will delete your access data and items

  • within 3 business days (except Saturday) if clients cancel the service by e-mailing us at tages-post@post.at with the subject line "Kündigung/cancellation", 
  • within 3 business days (except Saturdays) if the service is cancelled by Österreichische Post
  • within 3 business days after we receive the notification in case of the sender's decease or if the box is cancelled
  • and if the client does not use their Tages-Post box for more than three years.

Your rights:

Upon request, we will give you information about your personal data processed by Österreichische Post at any time. In addition, you may have the right to data portability, limitation of processing, correcting or deleting your personal data as well as the right to object to data processing. In addition, you have the option of filing a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
