Austrian Post Acquires Another Hungarian Company: Cont MediaFurther expansion on the Hungarian market for unaddressed advertising mail
947m brochures, EUR 10m in annual revenues
Austrian Post acquired a 100% shareholding in the Hungarian company Cont Media Hungary kft. The closing took place on September 1, 2008. In 2005, Austrian Post had already acquired feibra Hungary, the leader on the Hungarian market for unaddressed direct mail. The Austrian Post Group has now also taken over Cont Media, the second largest company in this market segment. As a result of the acquisition of Cont Media, Austrian Post now has a nationwide logistics network for distributing advertising brochures on the important Hungarian market. On balance, feibra and Cont Media jointly have a market share of slightly 60%.
Cont Media Hungary kft
Founded in 1993, Cont Media has set up its own delivery network in Western Hungary and Pest, and is the number two supplier of delivery services in the unaddressed advertising mail segment in Hungary. 43 employees together with a delivery staff of approximately 2,000 people working on a contractual basis distribute 947m advertising brochures each year, generating annual revenues of EUR 10m.
Cont Media optimally complements the existing network of feibra kft.
