Österreichische Post AG: New service offered for customers

Pressemeldung from 28.12.2000

A new subsidiary makes most up to date addresses available to business customers

On December 22, 2000, Österreichische Post AG founded the company Postadress Austria AG. By co-operation with the firm Schober Suppan Direktmarketing GmbH this 100 percent subsidiary, becoming operative most probably beginning February 2001, may be considered the expert for up to date addresses.

Each and every year there are changes in some 20 % of addresses in Austria. Postadress Austria GmbH will essentially update customer addresses, a very important activity for customers as it ensures targeted delivery.

Protection and security of consumers being essential for Österreichische Post AG, new reforwarding forms based on high data protection standards will be in use as of 2001. Written agreement of customer will be required in all cases for updating addresses.

Postal companies in Germany and Switzerland already offer similar services also based on international security directives.

"Success in the strong competition on the market is based on correct addresses. Postadress Austria GmbH's updated address data are an essential and unique support offered to all interested companies," says Josef Halbmayr, Management Board Member in charge of branch network, marketing, and sales.
