Euro Starter Sets Available in 116 Post Offices All Over Austria on December 15th, 2001

EUR 10.00 a day for all counter staff in contact with customers
First Euro starter sets sales at 00.00 hours on Saturday in Mini Post Office 1010 Vienna

As most Austrian banking institutions will be closed on Saturday, December 15, 2001 - first day for sale of Euro starter sets in Euro-land - Österreichische Post AG is one of the few "Euro pioneers" to sell Euro starter sets to customers the very first day they will be available.

Operation will start at 00.00 hours sharp on December 15, in post office 1010 Vienna. 116 post offices all over Austria are open on Saturdays, and all of them will sell the Euro starter set on the first day it is available already.

According to an agreement concluded on Wednesday, December 12, 2001, by company management and personnel representatives, Österreichische Post AG will pay all of some 5000 counter staff in contact with customers an extra amounting to EUR 10.00 a day for extra work due to change-over to Euro. This extra pay will be made for all 22 working days of January 2002, for full time staff as well as for some thousand part time staff. Overtime due to transition to Euro will be paid as usual.
