Österreichische Post AG Fullfilment Service
Pressemeldung from 4/15/2003
Opening of in-house postal service 3432 at Goldmann printing company
New logistics processes for key accounts
Today, 15 April 2003, Anton Wais, CEO of Österreichische Post AG, opened the in-house postal service (HaPo, short for German Hauspost) at Goldmann printing company in Tulln, Lower Austria.
Hi-tech and creative workflow planning to increase customer benefit
With innovative ideas, creativity in logistics and state-of-the-art technology, the postal services make their way directly into the company. The new HaPo fullfilment service at Goldmann printing company serves as the basis for a new logistics process Österreichische Post AG offers its key accounts. In this way, Österreichische Post AG moves a lot closer to its customers.
All the items printed at Goldmann’s (addressed and non-addressed ones) are pre-sorted by Österreichische Post AG staff at the new HaPo 3432 unit integrated in Goldmann’s dispatching department and transported directly to the respective delivery bases all over Austria by means of new business logistics based on so-called logistics hubs. This direct dispatch approach avoids time and effort consuming reloading and significantly reduces the risk of loss or damage. The building-up of the required weighing and IT control facilities was completed within 2 months.
The new hub logistics allows transports to be tracked and exactly scheduled. Item tracking makes it possible to provide continuously up-to-date information about the route, current position and time of delivery of each unit of items. Time-consuming investigations are now a thing of the past.
60 palettes a day
The postal distribution facility for HaPo 3432 is directly attached to Goldmann’s hi-tech printing systems. Goldmann accounts for an average of 60 palettes a day being transported to the postal hubs. As the first experiences gathered in implementing this new business process are positive, the new in-house postal service system will be offered to other key accounts as well.
