New in 2004: Get your own personalized stamp
Pressemeldung from 25.09.2003
Österreichische Post AG launches “MyStamp” - the personalized stamp for private and business customers
Be it a portrait, a company logo, or a holiday snapshot: soon Österreichische Post AG’s customers will be able to choose any kind of stamp motif they want. Until the end of this year, Österreichische Post AG is pilot-testing this new service. As the required minimum number of stamps to be issued at this stage is 20,000, the pilot project is currently restricted to business customers only. Should the pilot project prove successful, the “MyStamp” program featuring personalized motifs with a minimum 200 stamps issued will be open also to all private customers from the beginning of 2004. Every letter bearing such a personalized stamp will become an unmistakable product “made by” the respective customer.
Choosing your own stamp motif - easy, quick, and inexpensive
Provided the pilot project is successful, it will be the easiest thing in the world to order a personalized stamp from 2004:
All you have to do is electronically submit the desired motif to Österreichische Post AG’s collector’s service. Let your imagination run wild in choosing a suitable motif. Once you have paid the amount due and it has been established that your motif file meets the stipulated technical quality requirements, Österreichische Post AG will forward it to the Austrian State Printing Office, which will take care of stamp production, guaranteeing the usual high quality standards. Within a maximum of four weeks, you will get the finished stamps, which are valid for postage, delivered by Österreichische Post AG.
The face value of the stamps is Euro 0.55, which corresponds to the current standard letter postage rate. The price per stamp is expected to amount to about one Euro for private customers in 2004.
The uniform frame design makes it easy to identify “MyStamp” stamps. As a protective mechanism against counterfeiting, the new stamps will feature a tilt effect achieved through the use of iriodin color. This effect is noticeable only in original prints.
Österreichische Post AG reserves the right to deny the production of motifs featuring illegal or immoral images, without stating reasons. It is not possible to exchange “MyStamp” stamps for regular standard or special issue stamps issued by Österreichische Post AG.
