1.5 million stamps - available from all post offices
10 Cents of the price of each stamp sold go to people in need and to the handicapped
Österreichische Post AG’s “Licht ins Dunkel” special issue, of which 1.5 million stamps will be produced, will be available in all of Austria’s 1,668 post offices from 11 November 2003. The face value of the stamp produced by the Austrian State Printing Office is Euro 0.55, which corresponds to the current standard letter postage rate.
By buying this special issue, you support “Licht ins Dunkel” as Österreichische Post AG donates 10 Cents of the price of each stamp sold to this traditional Austrian fund-raising charity. So if you use a “Licht ins Dunkel” stamp for your Christmas postcards, you will not only delight the addressee, but also bring “light into the darkness” of people in need.
Another option for Österreichische Post AG customers to make a contribution is to buy a special set of Christmas cards consisting of three cards with Christmas motifs and three “Licht ins Dunkel” stamps. These sets are available from every post office at a price of Euro 2.99 from 11 November. 30 Cents of each Christmas card set sold will got to “Licht ins Dunkel”. As a special treat, every Österreichische Post AG customer who buys this set will get 10 Christmas stickers free of charge, directly at the counter.
In 1997, Österreichische Post AG issued the first “Licht ins Dunkel” special stamp to mark the 25th anniversary of this largest private aid campaign in Austria for people in need and the handicapped. Österreichische Post AG has been contributing to the annual fund-raising drive for many years.
