Austrian Direct Marketing Awards - Special Award Sponsored by Österreichische Post AG

Pressemeldung from 24.04.2003

Presentation of the book “Best of Direct Marketing 2003”

At a gala night held at the pyramid of the Event and Congress Center Wien Vösendorf on the occasion the “Columbus” Austrian Direct Marketing Awards 2002, Österreichische Post AG will sponsored a special award. At the award ceremony on 24 April 2003, whose motto was “This is not about winning or losing. This is about winning”, Anton Wais, Österreichische Post AG’s CEO, handed over the Columbus for last year’s best integrated campaign.

Columbus for best integrated campaign
The prerequisite for taking part in the “best integrated campaign” category was the participation in one of the regular eight Columbus categories as well as the use of at least three different media, one of which had to be direct mailing. Österreichische Post AG sponsors the award in this particular category because the integration of classic media, new media and direct marketing is best suited to ensure optimum impact and success for a campaign.
The trophy designed by Salzburg-based artist Herbert Gahr is a visible manifestation of the interlinking of different media and openness for new developments. As its centerpiece, the post horn symbolizes the classic mailing aspect.

Presentation of the “Best of Direct Marketing 2003” book
At the gala night, CEO Wais, together with Dagmar Lang, publisher at the Manstein publishing house, also presented the book “Best of Direct Marketing 2003”.
The book, of which 20,000 copies were produced in a joint venture by Österreichische Post AG and the Manstein publishing house, provides an overview of Austrian direct marketing campaigns and is intended to serve as a source of inspiration for future campaigns to all creative heads in this business.
The yearbook also presents the Columbus 2002 award winners as well as pieces of work honored at the Cannes Festival 2002 and provides all the key facts and figures relating to direct marketing in Austria.
