Easter bonus: Free EMS notification service

Pressemeldung from 07.03.2005

From 8 March to 30 April, free notification of EMS item delivery

As Europe’s first postal operator, Österreichische Post AG notifies its customers in advance when an EMS item will arrive – free of charge at Easter time. From 8 March to 30 April, customers can opt to be notified via text message or e-mail about the time EMS (Express Mail Service) items will be delivered. This notification service makes Österreichische Post AG the absolute No. 1 in Europe among private customers. This EMS extra service has been available since November 2003 – after the “Easter bonus” period, it will once again cost one Euro.

Notification of sender and recipient: Failed delivery attempts practically impossible
By specifying a mobile phone number or e-mail address upon posting, the sender will be instantly notified via text message or e-mail once the EMS item has been delivered. The same applies if delivery fails. To make sure this doesn’t happen, the sender can also indicate the mobile phone number or e-mail address of the recipient. The addressee will then be informed about the expected delivery time already a day in advance. The advantage: The notification will be received even if the recipient is on the move at the time. This makes failed delivery attempts practically impossible.
