50 percent of revenues from special issue donated to animal protection

Today, Friday 4 October 2002, Anton Wais, CEO of Österreichische Post AG, presented the new special issue “Dog” at the Roncalli circus currently set up on the Vienna Rathausplatz. The special issue stamp designed by Austrian cartoonist Manfred Deix is the second motif from the “Pets” series, following after the “Cat” issue equally designed by Deix.
Using halftone photogravure , the Austrian National Printing office has produced a million copies of this stamp with a face value of 0.51 Euro.

Animal protection support
Together with the special issue, Österreichische Post AG presents a philatelic special sheet. Half of the revenues from the sales of this sheet will be donated to the Kronen Zeitung newspaper’s Pet Corner, thus for the benefit of animal protection.
