Österreichische Post AG: Postadress Austria cooperates with Deutsche Post Adress
Pressemeldung from 09.07.2003
By matching address data, companies improve efficiency of direct marketing activities
In the future, Austrian companies will get easier access to German relocation addresses due to the collaboration between Postadress Austria and Deutsche Post Adress, a joint venture of Deutsche Post AG and Bertelsmann AG. In return, Postadress Austria has agreed to make its relocation database available to German customers.
At the end of June, Martin Weseloh, head of Österreichische Post AG’s Info-Mail division, and Michael Baumbach, Managing Director of Deutsche Post Adress, signed a cooperation agreement enabling customers from Austria to use new services for direct marketing activities. Postadress Austria and Deutsche Post Adress are subsidiaries of their respective national postal service providers and receive information from postal customers’ forwarding or redirection orders, provided the customers agree to have their data used for this purpose.
With this collaboration, the partners have responded to the desire expressed by companies in Austria and Germany for cross-border direct marketing support. By matching addresses, it is possible to significantly reduce divergence losses. Up-to-date address data of companies and private persons are offered only in correlation with old addresses.
6.5 million forwarding orders a year provide up-to-date address data for Germany’s largest relocation database. The database of Postadress Austria is matched against approximately 300,000 addresses a year.
