What is considered a regional publication?

Unaddressed items with identical content
Items are published under the same name in consecutively numbered issues with different content
Min. 24 pages per issue
Min. 25% editorial content about local or regional events

What is not considered a regional publication?

Items with excessive (more than 75%) advertising or only advertising
Publications published in the name of companies or brands
Item formats that do not match the defined dimensions

Requirements for inserts

1. Supplements

Inserts by the in-house editorial staff
Are added in the exclusive interest of the publisher/media owner
Not allowed: invoices, dunning letters, payment reminders, payment information
The total weight of the publication including all supplements will determine the weight class

2. Third-party inserts

Maximum of 4 inserts per item
Maximum weight of all third-party inserts: 200 g
Inserts with editorial or advertising content
Full or partial advertising envelopes (except when indicating the title and number on the first page of the publication and if there is consecutive numbering)
Advertising covers placed before the editorial cover page
Tip-on cards fully or partially in the interest of third parties
Not allowed: invoices, dunning letters, payment reminders, payment information
Check with Österreichische Post before adding samples
We will charge an additional fee per third-party insert

To send regional publications, you need to sign a registration agreement for every publication. The application can be made online via the electronic business client portal ELLA at ella.post.at/zeitungszulassung. There is no need to sign up for the business client portal ELLA!
Items may only be posted at the contractually agreed location during pre-determined hours (see download regarding posting).

Preparing for shipping

Shipping documents: Create your posting lists and bundle labels for every variation using the Österreichische Post Posting Manager
Pre-notification of posting: at the latest 3 business days (Monday through Friday) before posting via the Österreichische Post Posting Manager for every variation
Prepare a sample before posting
Posting your items:

By 12:00 noon on business days (Monday through Friday) at the destination distribution centre so that we can start delivering on the following day
Bundled by locality (in ascending order for postcodes, tied crosswise)
Bundle height: 20-235 mm, max. bundle weight: 10 kg
Please enclose a fully completed bundle label for every bundle (including title and contract number)
Several bundles can be posted together on one pallet; the maximum weight per pallet is 700 kg.
