Data Protection Policy, Mail Forwarding Services

Information about the use of data pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Österreichische Post will process your data for the following purposes:

provision of our mail forwarding services and delivery of items
Your data will be used to provide our mail forwarding services and for logistics purposes because we cannot forward mail without this data. Even after the end of the agreement, the names and current address of all persons will continue to be processed in order for us to deliver items. If you have moved, we will make a note for the old address that the persons in question have moved. Data storage after the end of the agreement is performed in the public interest so that automatic processes can be used to deliver items swiftly and at a low cost.
During the contracted time period, all data related to the mail forwarding order will be shared with other postal service providers so that items delivered through them will also be forwarded.
The legal basis for this data use is the contract with you as well as Article 6(1) (b) and (f) of the GDPR, Section 18 of the Delivery Act, Section 32(5) and Section 35(2) of the Postal Services Act.

Marketing
Österreichische Post has a justified interest to advertise its services and products. Therefore, your data (suffix, title, first name, last name, date of birth, address) may be used to send you information about products and services offered by Österreichische Post.
In addition, your data (suffix, title, first name, last name, date of birth, address) may be used by third parties for marketing purposes (address brokers and direct marketing companies). At the bottom of the area with the margin on page 1, you will see if your data is used by third parties for marketing purposes. If you have not objected to the use of your data for marketing purposes by third parties, this data may be shared with such companies for direct marketing purposes. You can object to the use of your data for marketing purposes at any time and without having to state reasons.  Please let us know about your objection online at datenschutzanfrage.post.at or write to Postkundenservice Bahnsteggasse 17-23,1210 Vienna.

For fiscal purposes, we will process order data for up to seven years after the end of the calendar year when the order was performed. In case the use of data pursuant to Section 151 of the Austrian Industrial Code  is permissible, data will also be used by third parties for marketing purposes until an objection to this use is made or users request that the data be deleted. If the use of data pursuant to Section 151 of the Austrian Industrial Code is not permissible, we will take note of it solely for the purpose of documenting any objection and to prevent data from being shared with third parties. We will therefore save data for this purpose only until deletion is requested. For logistics reasons, we will store your data as long as required for the delivery of items to your address, e.g. to plan the delivery process. This also includes the general entry of information that you receive mail at a given address or that you have moved from an address.
