On April 16, 2026, Qwien—the Center for Queer Culture and History—transformed into a lively gathering place for lovers of Vienna, Crypto stamp collectors, and the queer community. The occasion was the unveiling of the new Crypto stamp “Vienna—City of Music,” which was introduced that day. The special post office was open from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and many guests took the opportunity to purchase the new Crypto stamp right there on the spot and secure the first-day postmark.

At 6 p.m., Harriet Leischko (Financial Director of Qwien) and Marco Schreuder (Curator at Qwien) kicked off the evening with their welcoming remarks. District Chairman Michael Luxenberger then spoke, followed by Patricia Konrath from Austrian Post’s Blockchain Product Management team, who officially presented the new Crypto stamp. The impressive guided tour of the “United by Queerness” exhibition also made the evening an inspiring experience. Another highlight was the raffle, which generated a lot of excitement and produced several lucky winners.

The stamp, which captures Vienna’s musical diversity in a modern, symbol-rich design, generated a great deal of interest. Visitors gained insights into the design, the motifs, and the connection between the physical stamp and its digital twin (NFT).

The combination of queer culture, philately, and digital innovation made the evening an inspiring gathering. Together with our guests, we celebrated the diversity that sets Vienna apart as a city of music.
