Vienna Comic Con 2025

Showtime!
The Vienna Comic Con is Austria’s largest event dedicated to every facet of pop culture. To mark its 10-year anniversary, Austrian Post is celebrating with a spectacular commemorative miniature sheet.
Since 2015, Vienna Comic Con (VIECC®) has taken place at Messe Wien. The convention centres on pop culture and gaming, films, TV series, comics, anime and manga, cosplay and fantasy. Each year, around 40,000 fans attend the event, which features more than 500 international exhibitors, fan groups and artists, and offers an extensive programme including workshops, competitions, interviews, autograph sessions with star guests, and live shows.
2015 also saw the release of the hugely popular video game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which has had a major impact on pop culture ever since. The action role-playing game by Polish developer CD Projekt Red is based on the Witcher Saga, set in a world inhabited by magical creatures, monsters, witchers and sorcerers. The connection between the game and Vienna is reflected in the design of the stamp sheet: Polish artist Krzysztof Domaradzki took inspiration from Viennese Jugendstil and created an elaborately crafted sheet that merges art with gaming culture. The stamps depict the game’s two main characters, while the ornate floral and ornamental frame features additional characters. The edition of 125,100 sheets refers to the year 1251 – the birth year of Ciri, one of the story’s central figures.
Also showcased at the Austrian Post stand at VIECC® was the continuation of the sought-after Crypto stamp comic, along with a new matching Crypto stamp directly linked to the main character of the story. The new comic, Crypto stamp Island – Battle of the Mirrors, is limited to just 3,000 copies, while the Cassius Crypto stamp appears in an edition of 7,500. The comic was once again realised in collaboration with Thomas Aigelsreiter and Andreas Paar.
A special highlight of the weekend was the major Crypto stamp prize draw, which generated excitement throughout the entire convention. Numerous prizes were won from the claw machine – from Crypto stamps to a coveted Gold Edition and an exclusive Fvckrender Box. Participation was easy, enthusiasm was high, and the lucky winners were able to take their unique collector’s items home straight away.
