Austrian Post as a trailblazer for female empowerment

Diversity means making different perspectives, experiences and realities of life visible – and actively promoting them. Female empowerment is a key element of this approach, because equality does not happen by itself; it is the result of conscious decisions and structural change. Post takes a pioneering role in this area.

As early as 2019, the company launched Project Elly, a company-wide initiative designed to specifically empower women and bring about lasting change in corporate culture. Elly marked the starting point for a wide range of measures, from mentoring programmes and networking events to targeted career development. As part of the diversity network, employees actively engage in seven diversity networks, including the groups Women in Leadership and Family and Career.

These networks promote exchange, visibility and mutual support, thereby making a tangible contribution to equality. For Austrian Post, this translates into a clear objective: by 2030, 40% of leadership positions are to be held by women. Today, the figure already stands at over 35% – a visible sign of progress.

Female empowerment at Austrian Post is not a project – it is a lived reality and an integral part of the corporate culture.
