Day of issue of the commemorative stamp "Brunnwirt" in the "Traditional dining" series

The "Taverne zu Brunn" was first mentioned in the 15th century, but it probably existed long before that. For more than 600 years, today's Brunnwirt has been family-owned as an inn and farmhouse. Today, Gerti and Johannes are the sixth generation of the Brandstätter family to run the renowned restaurant along with exclusive residential units. Since 2001, they and their three daughters have lived in this unique building located directly on picturesque Lake Fuschl. From the idyllic outside seating area with its 300-year-old linden tree, patrons have a fantastic panoramic view directly onto Lake Fuschl, the Schober mountain opposite and Ellmaustein mountain.

The picturesque region around Lake Fuschl invites visitors to go hiking, cycling, and swimming in summer, and in winter guests can enjoy the magnificent landscape on sled rides and walks or get active on cross-country ski trails and snowshoe trails. From Fuschl, the entire Salzkammergut region and the cultural city of Salzburg, which is not far away, can be explored.
