Day of issue of the Austrian mushrooms "Parasol" commemorative stamp and historic postal vehicles

Philatelic exhibitions in Gmunden in the Salzkammergut Lake District have a long-standing tradition; it was here that the first multilateral exhibition took place. This time, the focus of the “phila”-Toscana is a bilateral stamp competition exhibition between Luxembourg and Austria, with an emphasis on maxima philately.

Around this bilateral stamp exhibition, numerous philatelic special products will be on offer. For instance, the organiser, BMSV-Gmunden, is issuing two ME3 miniature sheets as well as special envelopes and maximum cards with historical views of Luxembourg and Gmunden, accompanied by a daily special postmark. Gmunden is also the motif of an ME3 sheet from the series "Small historic cities in Austria". The WIPA association is once again a guest in the city, presenting two ME3 miniature sheets for the “Bilateral issue Luxembourg/Austria”.

Numerous international dealers are offering a rich selection of philatelic treasures. In addition to Austrian Post, postal companies from Germany, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg will also be represented at the fair. As part of the “phila”-Toscana, two Austrian commemorative stamps are celebrating their day of issue: the beautifully illustrated "Parasol" stamp from the "Austrian mushrooms" series and, for the first time in the "Historic postal vehicles" series, a motorised vehicle, the "Postbus ET 13". Vending machine stamps and registered mail slips from Austrian Post with an imprint for the “phila”-Toscana complete the offering.

Last but not least, the picturesque location of the Toscana-Congress event centre on Lake Traunsee is always a special highlight of the “phila”-Toscana. Here, one can experience "philately with a touch of holiday": engaging conversations with like-minded stamp enthusiasts can be combined with a walk in the park or a boat trip on the lake.
