Shipping with Post Express within Austria

Our Post Express service is your best choice for items sent to destinations in Austria or abroad. Domestic express items are delivered by 1:00 p.m. on the day after posting. For international items, use our convenient online express consignment note.

Important information: please ask the staff at the Austrian Post service location where you post your Post Express item about the effective time of posting. The time of posting (and not the opening hours) is decisive for the timely delivery of your Post Express item.

Given the legal situation in Austria, Post Express items are subject to VAT. Therefore, all indicated rates and surcharges include VAT.

Post Express items that exceed standard dimensions or that cannot be handled by our conveyor belts and facilities due to their shape or form require manual sorting and special shipping. These items include:

Small bulky goods:
Post Express items that are not cube-shaped and are smaller than L 100 x W 60 x H 60 cm

Large bulky goods:
Post Express items of any shape that are larger than L 100 x W 60 x H 60 cm (girth up to 360 cm)

Is the recipient only available on business days from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m.? In that case, use this additional service to have your Post Express items delivered by 10:00 a.m. on the business day after posting. You can post these items at any Österreichische Post service location.

 

This service is available for Post Express items sent to any regional capital in Austria.

Post Express also works on weekends. If you post your Post Express item on a Friday (business day), we will, upon request by the sender to use this additional service, deliver it by 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (business day) to the recipient. Saturday delivery is available for items sent to all regional capitals in Austria as well as to selected postcode areas provided that items are posted on Friday.

Upon request by the sender, we will deliver the Post Express item to the recipient only after we have verified their identity. These items can be posted at any Austrian Post service location. This service is available throughout Austria.

Our sender information service is a notification via text message or e-mail to the sender that the Post Express items has been received by the recipient. This service is free of charge.

The recipient of a Post Express items will receive a text message with the information that the item is on its way. This service is free of charge.

Upon request by the sender, we will deliver the item to the recipient only after they have paid the amount of money defined by the sender. Österreichische Post will then transfer the cash-on-delivery amount to an account specified by the sender. This service is available throughout Austria.

Your valuables are in very good hands with us! Use this additional serve to send cash, cheques, securities, credit or debit cards, jewellery, precious metals, gems, and other content worth more than EUR 1,500 as an insured Post Express-item with special handling.

 

We accept insured items worth up to EUR 10,000.

 

If your item is worth more than EUR 1,500, please seal it with a sealing strip.

If the content of your Post Express item is fragile or sensitive to shock, please let us know at the counter. We will affix a "fragile" sticker to ensure handling with special care during shipping. Your item will be sorted and distributed manually.
