CV, Walter Oblin
Walter Oblin was born in 1969 and received a degree in mechanical engineering and business economics from the Graz University of Technology. He also earned an MBA in the United States.
A native of Carinthia, he started his professional career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in Vienna in 1994. In 2000, he became a partner at that firm and eventually assumed an executive position as a member of the Austrian board of direc-tors, where he focused on McKinsey’s international transport and logistics activities. After 14 years as an international consultant, consulting predominantly with transport, infrastructure and logistics companies, Walter Oblin accepted a position as the administrative director of SorTech AG, a German technology company, in 2008. In the autumn of 2009, he joined Österreichische Post as the director of the Strategy and Corporate Development division. In July 2012, he become CFO and, since early 2019, has also been in charge of the Letter & Advertising Mail business divisions as well as Business Solutions.
