What is considered a regional publication, elections?

Items with identical content
Items are published under the same name with consecutive numbering and different content
Min. 4 pages per issue
Min. 70% editorial content, information about local events or politics
Official candidates recognised by election authorities are eligible to send such publications

What is not considered a regional publication, elections?

Items with advertising content
Magazines published in the name of companies or brands
Item formats that do not meet the predefined dimensions

Requirements for inserts:

Sender's own supplements are allowed
Check with Österreichische Post before including promotional items as inserts
Not allowed: third-party inserts
The total weight of the publication including all supplements will determine the weight class

To send regional publications/elections items, you need to sign a registration agreement. The application can be made online via the electronic business client portal ELLA at ella.post.at/zeitungszulassung. There is no need to sign up for the business client portal ELLA!
Items may only be posted at the contractually agreed location during pre-determined hours (see download regarding posting).

Preparing for shipping

Shipping documents: Create your posting lists and bundle labels using the Österreichische Post Posting Manager
Pre-notification of posting: at the latest 5 business days (Monday through Friday) before posting via the Österreichische Post Posting Manager
Prepare a sample before posting
Posting your items:

Bundles of 25, 50, or 100 items, except residual items
Bundle height: 20-235 mm, max. bundle wight: 10 kg
Please enclose a fully completed bundle label for every bundle (including title and contract number)
Several bundles can be posted together on one pallet; the maximum weight per pallet is 700 kg.

Publication frequency	minimum of 3 times per election
Timeframe	6 months before to 1 month after election day
Delivery	E+3: within 3 business days (Monday through Friday)
Posted volume	minimum of 400 units per issue
Delivery mode	To all housedholds in the desired distribution area (postcode, delivery area, municipal area). The delivery area option is only available upon previous consultation with your customer advisor.

Maximum dimensions	L 324 x W 229 x H 24 mm
Maximum weight	250 g
